"Simple shed for kuey thng soup. The side sliced fresh garoupa slice and baby octopus a must. First time here and certainly we will be back. Need to go the sort of counter in front to order once you get your table number once seated. A hidden gem."

"The kuey teow soup has a slightly sweeter taste compared to others. The boss taking orders near the stall seemed a bit arrogant, but perhaps it’s understandable given the high number of customers. The minced meat was flavorful, but the fish balls had a fishy taste, they could be improved if sourced from Sei Toh Lin (西刀林), which is known for better quality fish balls or fish cakes"

"The Broth: The standout feature is the seafood-forward broth. Moving beyond simple saltiness, it carries a deep, natural sweetness—likely the result of simmering prawns and fish bones into a concentrated essence. It achieves a "strong" umami profile while remaining impressively clear and non-greasy. The Fresh Fish: Instead of standard processed fish balls, the star here is the thick, freshly sliced fish & Red Snapper. Each slice is poached until tender and flaky; the lack of any "fishy" aftertaste is a clear testament to the quality of the daily catch in the Sungai Dua area."

"Hey there! Have you heard of this amazing hawker restaurant that serves the most delicious koay Teo soup? It’s a hidden gem, just beside the highway. You can grab a bowl of this mouthwatering soup before you head up to Alor Setar or from Penang. Trust me, it’s a must-try!"

"Trust me you won't regret being here. I managed to eat their octopus and fish with their homemade sauce, It definitely tasted very fresh and cooked perfectly. Handsome boss and staff are friendly. Keep up the good serve :) Don’t forget to leave some tummy space to dig into some Egg tart or Kaya Puff after your meal. Yummy"

"This is a minimal looking coffee shop. It's an extension off a corner lot house. Coffee shop is quite spacious, no frills. The cooks are very courteous. Nice people. Peaceful environment. We went at around 3.30pm. Warm day but very windy. We ate and enjoyed watching some 'uncles' playing mahjong. It's nostslgic for me. Takes me back to the days my grandmother, aunts and my mom used to banter over a game of mahjong... If you like fish and octopus, this place is for you. You can custom order your bowl of koay reow th'ng. I would score the koay teow soup a 7 out of ten. The clear soup is flavourful. Overall, it's a nice environment."
